### Job summary

As part of our expanding psychological therapies service, NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire are looking to recruit a full time Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) trainee therapists to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated and passionate individuals, trained in Person-Centred or Humanistic counselling / psychotherapy with more than two years post-qualifying experience, to join an established team of PCE-CfD therapists. The PCE-CfD team are very proud to offer this way of working within the NHS and this is an exciting opportunity to develop your practice through training in the PCE-CfD modality: delivering high quality, evidence-based therapy for our local population.

Applicants will be committed to training and working within an IAPT Service at Step 3 of the Stepped Care Model. As part of the role, you provide assessments and NICE approved therapies across the locality, through a variety of means such as video conference and telephone sessions, working flexibly to meet the service needs. For those who wish to work with clients face to face, this option can be discussed at interview.

Upon completion of training and in receipt of PCE-CfD Licensed Practitioner Certificate, salary will rise to Band 7.

Please note this is a hybrid role (Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Petersfield) so you will need a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work use.

### Main duties of the job

Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service

Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department referral protocols, and refer patients onto the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary

Assess patients for suitability for PCE-CfD, and referring to an alternative modality, making onward referrals or signposting to services when required. Identifying where presenting problems appear to be too complex or severe during training and seeking advice from supervisor / manager on how to manage the case.

To be responsible for assessment, treatment and discharge of patients in line with national guidance and agreed service protocols.

To draw on evidence-based psychological models to formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for patients

Facilitate therapy groups, as required, in line with service programme.

Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of patient contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.

Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or patients in treatment, where appropriate.

Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the PCE-CfD training

Apply learning from the training programme in practice

Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice

Ensure that patient confidentiality is protected at all times
