The Cardiovascular CAG is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Barts Heart Centre’s team of administrators within the EP and Intervention Cardiology service, as a Patient Pathway Coordinator. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for the administration of efficient and effective cardiovascular services, demonstrating both high performance and dedication.

The post holder will be responsible for secretarial and validation responsibilities within the cardiology service for Electrophysiology and Intervention cardiology, and when required provide cover across the service where staffing gaps arise. They will be expected to work independently and also within a team with minimal supervision while also utilising their own initiative. The post holder will be responsible to ensure the cardiology PTL is an accurate reflection of the patient waiting list, and patient pathways are maintained in line with RTT rules and NHS policy requirements.

The post holder will be working closely with the Deputy Delivery Manager in ensuring that all validation of patients pathways are up to date and the secretarial duties of the service are met.  The post holder will be required to cover alternative administrative duties when staffing gaps occur, as instructed by the Deputy Delivery Manager

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Keyboard skills to access and input into data systems, and competent in Microsoft Office products.
- Understanding of Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act

**Desirable**

- Competence with a range of NHS IT packages, e.g. CRS and G2
- Ability to use information to monitor processes, plan and initiate action

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Experience of a range of IT packages such as word, excel, outlook and power point
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of RTT rules and NHS patient pathway validation standards.
- A good level of medical terminology acquired through education, training or work experience

### Experience

**Essential**

- Demonstrable experience successfully working in a relevant administrative and/or medical secretarial role
- Experience of confidently validating patient pathways in accordance with RTT rules

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE A Level or equivalent standard of education
