The post-holder will undertake planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and lifecycle works to ensure that clinical and non-clinical environments are safe, compliant, functional, and presented to a high professional standard that supports patient care and staff wellbeing. Working with a high degree of autonomy and technical competence, the post-holder will carry out a full range of painting and decorating activities, including surface preparation, minor fabric and plaster repairs, application of specialist healthcare coatings, and working at height using approved access equipment. Work will be delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and agreed quality standards, with minimal supervision and with due regard to operational priorities. As a skilled tradesperson, the Band 4 Painter & Decorator will also contribute to the wider objectives of the service by sharing expertise, supporting development of apprentices and trainees, and promoting high standards of workmanship, professionalism and customer-focused service delivery across the Trust. ### Main duties of the job We are seeking an NVQ Level 3 professional with the technical confidence to work independently from drawings and deliver high-standard finishes across our hospital sites. In this role, you will balance your craftsmanship with professional communication, ensuring a safe and compassionate environment for patients and staff while strictly following COSHH and infection control.
