West London Children's Healthcare are seeking a dynamic pharmacist for this exciting role within the Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and Asthma Service. The service provides multi-disciplinary care for children and young people with complex respiratory conditions.

You will be part of the multi-disciplinary team, contributing your expert knowledge and advice to positively impact patient care. You will ensure the safe, clinically effective and cost-efficient use of medicines within the specialty. The role is based at St Mary's Hospital and will deliver care that impacts across WLCH sites and may be expected to work across all sites of WLCH as required.

Working with the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and Asthma, Senior Lead Pharmacist and the wider MDT, you will be responsible for developing the service (including homecare services), promoting a learning culture, supervising and developing staff, enabling delivery of a service that is informed by best evidence and expert knowledge.

- The post holder will be part of a team that is responsible for providing an advanced standard of care to patients at West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH), which covers a multi-cultural and diverse population. Together with other senior staff, you will act as a resource of specialist medicines advice for paediatric respiratory medicine to:
- Assist the Senior Lead Pharmacist in contributing to the planning, coordination, development and evaluation of the service.
- Be responsible for supporting with the development of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to paediatric respiratory and asthma services.
- Actively contribute to the development, monitoring and integration of written policies/guidelines and procedures covering all aspects of pharmaceutical care within the specialty.
- Assist in the management of drug expenditure, to monitor and audit the use of medicine including high cost/ PBR excluded drugs within the specialties.
- Support education and training of other pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and technicians in these specialties.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to communicate complex information
- Ability to deal with children and carers in a sympathetic manner
- Demonstrates good clinical knowledge and problem solving skills in the relevant specialist area
- Demonstrates ability to identify and meet own training needs
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and other common IT applications, including pharmacy and EPMA systems.

**Desirable**

- Communicates best practice both inside and outside the organisation
- Demonstrate good leadership skills
- Ability to influence senior clinical staff
- Basic Appraisal skills
- Practice research

### Education

**Essential**

- Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent
- Competency/Performance standards assessed and examined, full professional registration with GPhC
- Mandatory CPD / revalidation to assess fitness to practice
- Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice / minimum JPB foundation 18 months or equivalent

**Desirable**

- Member or Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
- Diploma / MSc in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience
- Management qualification or equivalent experience

### Experience

**Essential**

- Previous hospital pharmacy experience of which some is in a relevant specialist area
- Previous experience of mentoring and training
- Previous experience in delivering education and training
- Previous experience in supervising staff
- Dispensary & medicines information experience

**Desirable**

- Previous paediatric clinical pharmacy experience
- Previous experience in managing staff
- Clinical risk management
- Experience with managing change
- Demonstrate experience in project management
