### Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for providing a high-quality administrative support service to the Paediatric Surgical Pre-Op Assessment Department. The post holder will be the main point of contact for the Admissions Booking Teams, Surgery Operational teams and Outpatients Department. The post holder will also be required to provide general administrative and secretarial support.

The post holder will provide a broad range of support activities and will ensure the smooth running of the department and effective internal and external liaison to contribute to the successful running of the service. The role will require the individual to interact with a multi-disciplinary, cross-organisational team in a busy office environment, dealing with complex and sensitive issues.

Important Notice on Visa Sponsorship Eligibility

Please note that whilst the trust does offer sponsorship this role is unfortunately not eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Health and Care Worker/Skilled visa route. This is due to the position not meeting the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annum and the required skill level set by UK Visas and Immigration.

### Main duties of the job

Service Specific Duties Responsibilities:

- Liaise with speciality admissions booking teams to support continuous improvement in understanding of patient pathway. This may involve leading on or participating in specific training sessions for staff as required
- Support the clinical and administrative teams in ensuring the pre-assessment clinics are set up correctly
- Responsible for the day to day management and utilisation of the pre-assessment clinics, ensuring all slots are fully utilised
- Coordinating all aspects of the pre-assessment bookings, questionnaires and triage clinics
- Ensuring clinic outcomes are actioned and are correctly recorded on Patient Centre
- Be fully proficient on all patient information systems throughout the Trust in order to extract information and monitor patients’ pathways
- Establish excellent levels of communication and liaison with other departments such as Admissions Teams and the Outpatients Department

- If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
