Are you an experienced Paediatric nurse looking to increase your high dependancy and intensive care skills? Would you like the opportunity to work within the acute paeditric  wards and rotate to the critical care areas? Would you like to join a team of committed, supportive and dedicated nurses, caring for some of London’s most unwell children?

Then join our team, we will encourage and support you to develop acute care skills you need, to be the best you can be. You will need a willingness and commitment to develop the knowledge and skills required to manage the care of critically ill children.

As a Band 5 you will be caring for critically ill children with the support of senior staff, to allow you to enhance your skills. You will need to be adaptable to the changing pace of clinical care; enjoy learning and participating in team work.

To provide effective family centred nursing care to patients and their families. To ensure that evidence based practice is performed at all times, taking responsibility for updating own knowledge and skill in line with Trust policies and procedures and NMC code of professional conduct.

For newly qualified band 5 nurses, it will be an important step in consolidating practice and completing all relevant clinical competencies, receiving adequate support from colleagues.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- NMC Registration
- BSc or working towards

**Desirable**

- HDU course or relevant acute skills course

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Experience in a relevant unit. (NICU, HDU, PICU, Theatres, A&E, tertiary unit, surgery/medicine)
