### Main duties of the job

To provide day to day operational management support to the Diabetics Team with the aim of ensuring that from a non-clinical perspective the specialities are running effectively and efficiently.

The post holder will be the key contact for all new and existing diabetics’ patients, their relatives and multi-disciplinary team members. The post holder will maintain all administrative tasks associated with new and existing patients on the programme and act as a patient advocate and problem solver during the patient’s journey.

### Applicant requirements

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to work unsupervised
- Able to transcribe data in a timely and consistently accurate manner with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to compile, interrogate and analyse data to produce meaningful and accessible management reports and make appropriate recommendations
- Ability to use Excel / Powerpoint / Access, Mail Merge, Word Processing

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge and experience of office management

### Experience

**Essential**

- 3 years secretarial / administration experience
- Experience of working within a hospital
- Experience in establishing/maintaining robust admin systems

### Qualifications and Training

- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (i.e. science, health, health management, social science)
- Knowledge of health information management
- Understanding of NHS IT infrastructure, system requirements and quality standards
- Understanding of NHS business and administrative processes
