Clinical Fellow (Equivalent of ST6+) in Paediatric Gastroenterology for Neurogastroenterology and Motility.

The Paediatric Gastroenterology team at Great Ormond Street Hospital are inviting applications for a Clinical Fellow within the subspecialty Neurogastroenterology and Motility.

This post provides a unique and exciting opportunity for applicants who wish to extend their clinical experience in Paediatric Neurogastroenterology and Motility Disorders, within the unique and supportive environment of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The appointment will be for 12 months starting from September 2026, with the potential thereafter of extension by mutual agreement.

In this post, you will be working as part of a MDT and will be responsible for providing senior middle grade care for both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring continuity of care for patients and families as they progress through treatment.

The successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. There may also be potential scope for possible other ST6 positions later in the year.

This post is designed for experienced paediatrician in Gastroenterology and Paediatric Neurogastroenterology and Motility at ST6 level or equivalent. The post provides a unique and exciting opportunity for training in Neurogastroenterology and Motility Disorders.

The post holder will provide senior medical supervision of the Gastroenterology Inpatient service and will provide continuity for patients and families as they progress through treatment. There will be training associated with the post.

Key working relationships

The hospital department of Gastroenterology works closely with both the academic department of Gastroenterology and the Medical Research Council’s Childhood Nutrition Research Centre in the Institute of Child Health.

The department has an international reputation in research and in clinical service in Gastroenterology and nutrition and together with a number of other groups in the Institute with a major interest in nutrition provides an unparalleled academic expertise in nutrition.

- Commitment to carry out high quality research, leading to publications.
- Experience of teaching and presenting
- Understanding of the spectrum of IBD and Mucosal Immunology Conditions
- Paediatric experience in paediatric gastroenterology for more than 2 year, at post-graduate level (doctor)

### Academic/Professional qualification/Training

**Essential**

- Primary medical qualification - MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice (or application in process) or IELTS Certificate with an overall score of 7.5 or Occupational English Test (medicine version) with a minimum score of ‘B’ in each domain.
- Paediatric experience for more than 5 years, at post-graduate level (doctor), including training in paediatric resuscitation
- Paediatric experience in paediatric gastroenterology for more than 2 years, at post-graduate level (doctor)
- MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent
- Experience of diagnostic endoscopy

**Desirable**

- Higher degree – MSc, MPhil related discipline
