We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and forward-thinking Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist with a subspecialty interest in Electrophysiology (EP) to join our growing service. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen and further develop our electrophysiology provision alongside delivering high-quality general paediatric cardiology care.

You will join a committed and supportive multidisciplinary team with strong links across the network, providing an excellent platform for both clinical leadership and service expansion in this important subspecialty area.

We are looking for a candidate with the vision and expertise to help shape and grow the inherited cardiac conditions service while contributing fully to the wider paediatric cardiology service.

### Main duties of the job

TThe successful candidate will contribute to the full range of paediatric cardiology activities, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, service weeks, on-call rota participation, and MDT working, while also supporting and enhancing the electrophysiology service. This will include involvement in the assessment and management of arrhythmias, development of EP pathways, and collaboration with regional and tertiary partners. The role includes delivery of peripheral clinics, supporting access to specialist care across the wider network, alongside opportunities to lead on service development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives within electrophysiology.

- Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Paediatric Cardiology

- Any specialist EP training – recognised EP fellowship or equivalent experience

- Experience of supervising trainees.
- Knowledge of teaching to a multidisciplinary team

### Qualifications & Training

**Essential**

- Full Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or willingness to complete GMC registration through GMC sponsorship scheme Or
- Achievement of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Paediatric Cardiology, or evidence of being within six months of award of CCT by date of interview Or
- Eligible for specialist registration in Paediatric Cardiology within approximately six months of interview (please note, this does not apply to CESR applications)

**Desirable**

- Higher academic qualification e.g. MSc, MD, PhD or equivalent

### Clinical Governance and Audit

- Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies
- Recent record of clinical governance, audit, or quality improvement project
- Positive approach to evidence-based practice.
- Participation in continuing professional development (CPD) scheme and, where relevant, evidence of participation

### Clinical Knowledge and Skills

- Up to date knowledge and experience of relevant specialty
- Knowledge of NHS priorities with reference to specialty
- Accreditation in Congenital Echocardiography

- Experience in implantation & removal of loop recorders & drug provocation testing
