We currently have a vacancy for a receptionist post in  Clinical Haematology Outpatients Department working at City Campus.

We are looking for a full time receptionist .

We are looking for enthusiastic and well-motivated staff member who would like the opportunity to work in a fast paced positive developing environment.

The applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional telephone manner and good customer care skills. The post holders should also be able to prioritise and work well as  members of a team, use their own initiative, maintaining accuracy with both verbal and written communication.

The role entails managing reception, welcoming patients and ensuring that all relevant administrative tasks are completed to provide the expected high standard of care for patients in hospital.

For this exciting and challenging role candidates need to be keen to develop their administrative and clerical skills and be a team player.  Receptionist skills, experience in the NHS, knowledge of the hospital and use of NUH computer systems such as MEDWAY PAS and NOTIS  would be a distinct advantage.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidates need to be computer literate, experienced in the use of electronic communications and be confident during face to face interactions with patients and visitors. They will be a focal point of contact to the department and will also act as an information resource for staff and visitors. Knowledge of hospital systems i.e. Medway, PAS and DHR is desirable, however training can be provided.

### Experience

- Recent experience in an Reception/administration / clerical role
- Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

**Desirable**

- Previous experience in similar role in the NHS/ healthcare setting.
- Previous experience in customer service.

### Physical Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment effectively for extended periods.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move between work areas throughout the working day as required.
- Ability to handle and process paperwork, files, and clinic documentation accurately.

### Other requirements

- To be able to work over both campus if needed.

- A to C grade GCSE’s or equivalent including English and Maths.
