An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Outpatient Appointment Centre as a booking coordinator.

You will work as part of an enthusiastic team in a busy office environment helping to deliver and maintain a professional administration/clerical service to patients, relatives and colleagues and Trust staff.

### Main duties of the job

To deliver and maintain a professional administration service to the Outpatients’ department and to all users including patients, relatives and colleagues.

As per Home Office guidelines, please be aware that, unfortunately, the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular position.

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have:

-       applied for a Graduate visa

-       or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment

-       or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment

This vacancy will close at midnight on 8th June 2026.

Interviews will be held on Monday 15th June 2026.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills including telephone, email, face to face
- Ability to learn and adapt to complex processes and procedures

**Desirable**

- Ability to touch type

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
- Understanding and experience of good customer service, to patients (customers), visitors, and both internal and external colleagues
- Knowledge of bespoke and general IT systems and using multiple softwares

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of the Trust including awareness of priorities
- Knowledge of Trust information systems
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Good knowledge and experience of MS Outlook, MS Excel and complex telephony systems

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in a busy clerical/office environment or reception role
- Prioritising, planning and organising own tasks
- Experience of customer service or dealing with the public
- Data entry experience
- Experience of IT packages - Microsoft office
- Ability to understand various NHS guidelines, work within them and recognise when these guidelines have been breached
- Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of working in NHS
- Previous experience of working with medical records
- Experience of call handling

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- NVQ level 2 Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent experience
