### Job overview

The Crisis Worker(s) will be responsible for providing out of hours, on-call cover for the Amethyst Centre, providing immediate emotional and practical support, and information at short notice to victims of rape and serious sexual assault. This includes crisis management and client advocacy as required, responding to emergency out of hour’s telephone calls for both Police referrals and self-referrals to the service.

The Crisis Worker will provide support and crisis management to include needs and risk assessment to individuals, liaise with and support external coworkers and arrange appropriate external referrals with the clients consent.

Crisis worker will assist the Forensic Medical examiner and carry  decontamination of the forensic suite following the examination.

The post holder will be required to be flexible with availability and commit to working as part of a team considering others on the rota and supporting colleagues.

The post holder must be able to attend the Centre within 30  minutes, when requested to do so. The post holder must be able to  demonstrate that they can respond to telephone contact in an environment suitable to maintaining client confidentiality.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

On-call / Out of hours. Rota by prior agreement, covering the following:

Mon to Fri 17.00hrs - 08.00hrs.

Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays 08.00 - 20.00 hrs and 20.00 - 08.00 hrs.

Amethyst - North Wales Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) is a partnership between BCUHB, North Wales Police and third sector agencies. It is situated in Colwyn Bay and provides high quality care for victims of rape and serious sexual assault.

The role includes providing immediate emotional and practical support and information to victims of rape and serious sexual assault. You will be part of an on call rota to provide out of hours cover for Amethyst working closely with the police and forensic medical examiners.

It is essential that you have the ability to travel to the Amethyst Centre within 30 minutes of being called out.

Those applicants who are successful throughout the interview process will be subject to Criminal Records Bureau and Police vetting checks prior to appointment.  It should be noted that the police vetting enquiries will include research of any contact the applicant, their family or associates may have experienced with the police service nationally, the financial background of the applicant and any other susceptibility to improper influence, any other characteristic that might impact on performance of the role.
