This post has been developed to provide additional capacity, enhance service resilience, and support the existing team in maintaining safe and effective patient care. The successful candidate will contribute to a broad range of ophthalmology services, including cataract clinics and surgery, subspecialty clinics (such as glaucoma and/or medical retina), and trauma care. The role will also involve participation in the  review of emergency inpatients, and delivery of both elective and urgent care pathways. The post holder will undertake a combination of Direct Clinical Care (DCC) activities—including clinics, theatre lists, and intravitreal injection sessions—as well as Supporting Professional Activities (SPA), in line with Trust expectations. Flexibility will be required to respond to service demands, including validation work and service development initiatives.
