These clinics aim to streamline the patient pathway, providing quicker, more efficient review for patients and this role is a key part of this transformation in service provision. Working independently, you will take a patient history, conduct vision and IOP testing and undertake the required imaging modalities as per protocol. In addition, working alongside colleagues from Medical Illustration, including Medical Photographers and other Ophthalmic Imaging Technicians, and the wider eye clinic team, you will perform high-resolution imaging of the retina, cornea, anterior segment, and other parts of the eye using specialized ophthalmic imaging equipment for those patients who are attending for face-to-face review. This is a fast-paced environment in which the team works flexibly and adaptably to provide comprehensive, high quality imaging services to a range of clinicians and specialties. ### Main duties of the job We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Ophthalmic Imaging Technician to join our dynamic imaging team. Key Requirements: Qualified to at least ONC level (or equivalent experience). GCSE passes including English and Maths. Proven experience in ophthalmic imaging, with a solid understanding of retinal and anterior segment photography techniques. This will include knowledge and experience of obtaining a variety of different ophthalmic imaging modalities using a range of imaging equipment including OCT, OCT angiography, Galilei, specular microscope, HRT, fundus camera, slit lamp camera, ultra widefield retinal imaging and DSLR. - The post holder will be expected to be patient focussed, with excellent customer service skills and proven experience working with the general public including visually impaired patients. **Desirable** - Experience of image enhancement software (Photoshop) ### Personal Qualities **Essential** - To have a sympathetic and professional attitude towards patients.
