We are seeking an exceptional and inspirational leader to join Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Operations Director for the Medicine Division.

This is a pivotal senior role, offering the opportunity to shape the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services across medical specialties, outpatients, diagnostics and elective pathways. Working as part of the triumvirate alongside the Divisional Medical Director and Divisional Chief Nurse, you will provide visible, values-led leadership across one of our largest and most complex divisions. You will play a key role in delivering sustainable services, improving patient outcomes and driving transformation aligned to Trust and system priorities.

The post holder will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure delivery of safe, effective and responsive services across the Medicine Division.

You will be responsible for operational performance, including RTT, cancer and diagnostic standards, alongside financial stewardship and delivery of cost improvement programmes. The role will lead major transformation initiatives, including elective recovery, outpatient reform, pathway redesign and workforce modernisation.

Working closely with clinical leaders and system partners, you will develop innovative service models that improve access, productivity and patient experience. You will also promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance, ensuring services meet regulatory and governance standards.

### Skills and ability

**Essential**

- - Evidence of strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- - Ability to manage a complex workload under pressure and delegate to deliver to deadlines.
- - Strong team-working skills, including collaboration and effective delegation.

### Experience and Knowledge

**Essential**

- - Extensive significant experience at Senior Manager level or above within the NHS, including considerable general management experience.
- - Proven experience of leading service improvement and modernisation within an acute trust.
- - Evidence of ability to deliver key performance targets, whilst maintaining quality standards.

### Training and qualifications

**Essential**

- - Master’s level qualification or equivalent in leadership and management.
- - Clearly documented evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) for professional profile
- - Able to demonstrate relevant knowledge, understanding and skills gained through any combination of continued study, or employment experience to equivalent master’s level.
