We are looking for an experienced and dynamic dietitian to take on a leadership role for the Lakeside Wing (LSW) Hospital located on the University Hospital of Wales site.  The role will work closely with the clinical lead and MDT in acute medicine as the hospital transitions to becoming a more acute unit. Acute medicine at the University Hospital of Wales incorporates a significant number of dietetic support workers, the post holder will additionally take on a role as practice development lead for our unregistered workforce and support them to achieve Agored Cymru qualifications. The role will incorporate clinical sessions in line with the successful candidate’s clinical expertise.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work alongside the Clinical Lead dietitian for Medicine to ensure the smooth running of the LSW dietetic service and provide operational lead support to wider dietetic team.  The dietetic team in LSW incorporates band 5 and band 6 dietitians, and dietetic support workers to deliver a model nutrition and dietetic service. You will lead on all aspects of the dietetic service delivery for the hospital including staff supervision including appraisals, catering and facilities liaison, pharmacy and nutritional product management, nutritional standards of care including audit and service development ensuring that patient nutrition is prioritised and a high-quality service is delivered.

Previous management/leadership experience, and a thorough understanding of dietetic support worker roles and the support worker career framework is desirable.  Suitable applicants should have significant dietetic experience in acute clinical services and be able to demonstrate relevant post graduate experience or study.  You will need excellent communication, effective leadership and managerial skills, a practical, forward thinking approach to service development and evaluation, and the ability to teach and support others.
