We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has an interest in the Oncology speciality. The successful applicant will be working within a highly motivated, friendly team who will be delivering high quality standards of care. Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once the required number of suitable applications have been received. ### Main duties of the job This post will be working to supporting the existing team in the safe delivery of holistic care to a wide range of cancer patients undergoing day patients treatments. Under the direction of the unit manager and senior staff, provide high standards of evidence based, quality, holistic, nurse-led care to a wide variety of cancer patients and their carers. With appropriate training and support safely administer a wide range of cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs and supportive care to patients. To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which:- (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities This post will be working to supporting the existing team in the safe delivery of holistic care to a wide range of cancer patients undergoing day patients treatments. The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with previous experience in looking after people with a cancer diagnosis. The applicant should have excellent communication skills. Chemotherapy training will be given but venepuncture, IV drug administration and care of central venous access devices would be an advantage. If chemotherapy training is needed, the applicants must be willing to undertake formal study to obtain the relevant qualifications as part of their development and role.
