We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic Administrator to join our Oncology Outpatient team, providing comprehensive administrative support. The post holder will be expected to organise and prioritise their own workload and work closely with clinical colleagues to ensure continuity of service and a positive experience for our patients at all times.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to develop their skills and knowledge within a complex, fast-paced environment. You will have excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, along with the enthusiasm and commitment to continually develop both yourself and the service. This post is offered on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, working 37.5 hours per week

### Main duties of the job

- Greet patients and visitors to the department in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
- Provide reception cover and support the smooth running of the Oncology Outpatient service.
- Book, amend and cancel follow-up appointments, including blood test appointments.
- Complete patient follow-up bookings using eCheck-out on Cerner.
- Contact patients regarding appointment changes and make reminder telephone calls as required.
- Book, amend and cancel patient transport for future appointments when required.
- Arrange interpreters for patients attending future appointments where necessary.
- Monitor and manage the shared departmental inbox, responding to or escalating enquiries appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records, filing systems and associated documentation.
- Process and manage paperwork relating to reception and outpatient administrative duties.
- Work closely with nursing, medical and wider multidisciplinary teams to support the effective running of clinics.
- Provide cross-site administrative and reception cover between Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital when required to support service needs.
- Undertake other administrative duties appropriate to the role as required.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
