We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate Dietitian to join our Care Care Dietetic Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

This new fixed term band 5 role is ideal for a clinician who is keen to gain experience across a range of settings including inpatient, outpatient and day units working as an essential and respected part of the wider MDT. The dietitian will work across a range of cancer sites providing nutrition support advice to patients from diagnosis through to best supportive care with supervision from experienced members of the team to support and develop knowledge and skills.

As a department, we pride ourselves on being forward-thinking and collaborative. We foster a culture of shared learning, reflective practice and continuous improvement, supported by quarterly county-wide CPD sessions aligned with the four pillars of practice.

### Main duties of the job

- To work as part of the cancer care team providing dietetic support and advice for patients diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy.
- To work across settings including inpatient wards, chemotherapy day unit and outpatient clinics
- To assess and treat an agreed caseload of patients under the supervision of a more senior practitioner
- To keep accurate records in accordance with RCHT and Health Professions Council regulations/policy.
- To contribute in individual and team learning, development and wellbeing

### Skills

- An understanding of the impact of malnutrition on clinical outcomes
- An ability to assess and write reports
- An ability to demonstrate best dietetic practice for a range of conditions
- An ability to communicate with a wide range of people and using differing medias
- An ability to work effectively within teams
- An ability to evaluate and report on complex data.
- Demonstrated knowledge and participation in Clinical Governance

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian

**Desirable**

- Membership of BDA
- Experience teaching patient and/or staff groups

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of caring for a wide range of conditions

**Desirable**

- Experience of HEF feeding
- Experience of working in oncology
