Do you have extensive experience in Oncology Care?

We have a new and exciting opportunity for two enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Cancer Business Unit within our Oncology department as a Clinical Nurse Specialist supporting the patient pathways for metastatic and non metastatic cancers.

You will be joining an established team of dynamic CNSs and will play a key role in delivering specialist nursing care to patients throughout their cancer journey. You will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to maintain and develop a high-quality service for patients with x1 non-metastatic breast CNS and x1 metastatic skin cancers CNS.

Acting as the patient's advocate, you will ensure privacy, dignity and person-centred care at all times, while providing advice, support and clinical leadership to junior staff and learners in all aspects of delivering high-quality care.

This role will also provide specialist support, advice and education to patients and their significant others, empowering them to manage the physical, psychological and practical impacts of their diagnosis and treatment, and ensuring seamless care throughout their pathway.

### Main duties of the job

Substantial nursing experience in Breast Care or/and oncology nursing at band 6/7 is preferable. You will need to be flexible, reliable and patient focused. You will work closely with the consultant team in delivering patient centred care.

There is a requirement to work between both Derby and Burton sites, however theses posts are predominately RDH (Royal Derby Hospital) based.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Evidence of substantial post qualification experience
- Equivalent level of experience equivalent to a master within the speciality
- Significant demonstrable and recent experience of working within Oncology
- IT Literate
- Experience in teaching or supporting learners

**Desirable**

- Experience of audit

- Communicates highly complex condition related, sensitive information to patients/ relatives and across the wider healthcare community
