The LYPFT citywide Care Homes Team is seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join a small, friendly service that directly supports older people with complex dementia and/or mental health needs residing in a Leeds care home. It is ideal, but not essential, that you have post registration experience, and be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the needs of Service Users with dementia and complex mental health needs. We shall provide you with specialist training and development to ensure you are fully supported in this role. Broadly, the model of service delivery includes: care coordination; timely assessment, role modelling appropriate interventions, behaviours & techniques, education for care staff tailored to the needs of the individual service user, fast access to mental health, psychology and pharmacological advice. Please note that this is a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. The service operates Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
