An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Urgent and Emergency Care Therapy Services at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced and evolving clinical environment, supporting patient flow across Frailty, Emergency Department and Acute Medical Units, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

You will join a forward-thinking therapy service within a modern, purpose-built hospital, working within integrated teams to support patient flow and deliver high-quality care across the urgent care pathway.

### Main duties of the job

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment, supporting patients within Frailty, Emergency Department, and Acute Medical Units. The post holder will utilise advanced clinical reasoning, clinical judgement and problem-solving skills to enable patients to optimise their independence, avoid unnecessary hospital admission, and support safe and timely discharge.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the Occupational Therapy role within urgent care pathways and will work collaboratively with fellow Band 7 Therapists to lead and support the therapy team, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.

A key aspect of the role will be working in partnership with community providers to support seamless patient pathways, ensuring safe transitions of care and continuity of rehabilitation within community settings.

You will be confident managing a varied and complex caseload within a challenging environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.

We are committed to staff development and offer regular supervision, appraisal, and personalised development planning. The role includes responsibility for the supervision, support and development of junior staff and students.

UHLG staff are required to work flexibly, to support seven-day services and participation in shift patterns over an extended working day.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- BSc, Masters or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Specialist post-registration qualification
- Evidence of CPD

### Skills & Experience

- Demonstrable postgraduate clinical experience
- Active experience in audit
- Supervision of staff and students
