The Chiltern CMHT Adult Mental Health Team is seeking a motivated OT committed to delivering person-centred care for adults with complex mental health needs. You will use occupation-focused assessment and intervention to promote independence, wellbeing, and meaningful daily living.

Working alongside nursing, psychiatry, psychology and social care colleagues, you’ll be supported by experienced clinical leaders while having the autonomy to shape and develop the occupational therapy offer within the team.

### Main duties of the job

- Conduct specialist Occupational Therapy assessments in collaboration with service users and their families/carers, and present findings to the team.
- Manage a caseload of clients with complex Occupational Therapy needs, using evidence-based, patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Develop and monitor treatment plans to ensure the safety, well-being, and independence of service users, working closely with partner agencies when necessary.
- Provide specialist support and education to service users and carers regarding various aspects of occupational therapy, including equipment fitting.
- Engage in continuous professional development by participating in practice development initiatives, supervision, reflective practice forums, and maintaining competency through Continuous Personal Development.

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Appropriate experience & post qualification experience.
- Experience of working with the mental health service users in a variety of settings
- Experience of working collaboratively with carers to meet both the needs of the carer and the user.

**Desirable**

- Community work with people with mental health needs.
- Experience of supervising student placements.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- BSc/MSc/PG Dip Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist (OT)
