We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part time Band 5 Occupational Health Nurse to join our dynamic Occupational Health & Wellbeing Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, proactive occupational health service, supporting both Trust staff and external clients. The role forms part of a service that is continually evolving to deliver impactful, preventative interventions that promote workforce health, wellbeing, and attendance.

As a band 5 occupational Health Nurse, you will provide additional resource and flexibility to support service demands. The role may be utilised across a range of occupational health activities, including, health surveillance, immunisation programmes, MSK workplace assessments, and wellbeing initiatives, helping to maintain service delivery.

### Main duties of the job

Undertake pre-employment screening for Trust employees and external organisations as required.

Participate in the delivery of health promotion and wellbeing initiatives that support the health, wellbeing and attendance of employees.

Escalate complex clinical cases and fitness for work concerns to senior Occupational Health Advisors as appropriate.

Participate in health surveillance programmes of employees whose work may bring them in to contact with hazardous substances.

Carry out immunisation / vaccination of employees in accordance with Patient Group Directions e.g. influenza, hepatitis B, TB, MMR, and chicken pox.

Undertake venepuncture, spirometry, audiometry and vision screening. Undertake workplace and MSK assessments.

Management of body fluid exposure incidents (inoculation injuries) and any follow up.

Ensure procedures for checking, testing and maintenance of equipment are followed.

To provide appropriate Occupational Health advice which complies with the ethical guidance from the Faculty of Occupational Health Medicine.

The post holder will provide clinical care in line with departmental Policies, procedures, protocols, Guidance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).· To maintain appropriate records in line with departmental protocols on record keeping.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Knowledge of the role and function of the Occupational Health Department
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently, using initiative and professional judgement to effectively prioritise and manage a complex workload within defined parameters.

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of working in Occupational Health within the NHS or within a similar setting
- Additional training or qualification in MSK assessment, ergonomics or workplace health (e.g. manual handling, physiotherapy-informed practice or OH case management relating to MSK).

### Qualifications, Education and Training

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse (Part 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), maintaining current registration and revalidation requirements.
- Administration of immunisations and vaccinations, acquired through training to degree level, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of professional accountability, working within scope of practice and adhering to the NMC Code and relevant clinical governance frameworks.
- Demonstrates the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, effectively managing time and priorities

**Desirable**

- Willingness to undertake further training in Occupational Health as required
- Health Surveillance training in all aspects including - Audiometry, vision, spirometry

### Skills, Competencies and Personal Qualities

**Essential**

- Well-developed organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and deliver to deadlines within a pressurised environment.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to travel across multiple sites and safely transport equipment as required by the role.

**Desirable**

- Demonstrates the ability to assess the functional impact of health conditions, including musculoskeletal (MSK) issues within an occupational health setting, and apply clinical reasoning to provide practical, evidence-based workplace advice and recommendations
