An exciting opportunity has arisen across South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust to recruit self-motivated enthusiastic and dynamic Obstetric Sonographers.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a high-quality diagnostic ultrasound service whilst maintaining high standards of patient care.

As a directorate we are committed to the development and education of our staff, supported by dedicated practice development and educational lead midwives.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high-quality diagnostic ultrasound service whilst maintaining high standards of patient care at all times.

Acquire, assess, and interpret obstetric ultrasound images and provide clinical diagnostic reports, diagnosing conditions which influences patient care and treatment.

To undertake all ultrasound procedures delegated by the lead advanced practitioner to a good level of skill and knowledge in all aspects of obstetric ultrasound.

Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be prepared to work closely within a multi-disciplinary team providing a high-quality diagnostic ultrasound service whilst maintaining high standards of patient care.

A flexible approach to the variable demands of the service and the ability to work under pressure is essential. Cross-site working in expected as a standard part of this role.
