We have an  opportunity for a Nursing Support Worker to join our dedicated team on Ward 19&20, Royal Glamorgan Hospital, which is an Acute Stroke Unit.

We are looking for reliable motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the team.

The individuals will be required to work under the direction of the registered nurse, ensuring high standards of care are provided and maintained at all times.

### Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing care for patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living including washing, dressing mobilising, feeding and pressure area care.

Successful candidate will also be expected to complete documentation to an acceptable standard and assist in keeping ward area clean and clutter free.

The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative.

Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. - Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject OR Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses.
