Ward 9 has a Surgical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) area,  a 24 hour trolley bay and a 9 bedded 72 hour Surgical Assessment Unit. The successful candidate will be required to have had past surgical experience and  work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and will be expected to undertake fundamental aspects of patient care at Band 3 criteria including undertaking patient’s vital signs of surgical patients. ### Main duties of the job An opportunity has arisen for  Band 3 Nursing Support Workers to work as part of the clinical team within the Ward 9 team. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and will be expected to undertake fundamental aspects of patient care  at Band 3 criteria including undertaking patient’s vital signs.  The individual will be required to have good communication skills to be able to relate to patients, members of patients families and the multi-disciplinary team that work within the clinical area.  Informal visits are encouraged. Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates.
