Key responsibilities:

- Deliver and support high quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Assist with personal care including hygiene, feeding and comfort of patients
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised ward environment at all times
- Monitor patients and report any physical or psychological changes promptly
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Support stock control, equipment use and general housekeeping duties within the unit
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

- Experience or familiarity with working in a healthcare or hospital environment
- Knowledge of health and safety, infection control and moving and handling practices
- Awareness of hospital-acquired infection prevention and environmental cleanliness standards
- Ability to use basic IT systems and maintain accurate records
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy and demanding environment
- Flexible approach to working hours with a willingness to learn and develop
