We are looking for a committed and compassionate Nursing Associate to join our multi-professional team. This role works closely with Registered Nurses and other clinicians to assess, plan, organise and deliver high-quality clinical care that meets individual patient needs and service priorities.

Nursing Associates provide holistic, person-centred care across the lifespan and across all fields of nursing, supporting people of all ages in a variety of care settings. The role combines independence and accountability, while working under the leadership and supervision of Registered Nurses and within the nursing scope of practice.

The role is underpinned by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code and standards of proficiency, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care at all times.

### Main duties of the job

- Deliver safe, effective and compassionate person-centred care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for people with a range of health needs, including long-term and complex conditions
- Monitor physical and mental health, recognise deterioration and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medication in line with Nursing Associate guidelines and organisational policy
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and use clinical systems in accordance with Trust requirements
- Communicate effectively with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Promote dignity, equality, inclusion and safeguarding in all aspects of care
- Support risk management, incident reporting and quality improvement activities
- Contribute to multidisciplinary working, service development and patient experience initiative
- Support and supervise learners and colleagues, acting as a positive professional role model
- Maintain professional competence through ongoing learning, reflective practice and adherence to the NMC Code

- Previous experience of working within a health / care setting in the field of area applied for
- Relevant experience of working self-directed or as part of a team.
- Evidence of continuing professional development

- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development
- Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within the Code.
- Relevant clinical skills in work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, non- verbal communication) with patients/relatives, carers, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers, and colleagues.
- Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
- Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice when needed
- Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload effectively
- Able to recognise own limitations in the context of the nursing associate role

### Education/Qualification

**Essential**

- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
- Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice
- GCSEs Grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent
- Care Certificate
