An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cardiac Investigation Unit, (CIU) which is a 21 bedded in patient acute cardiac area, with 4 recliner chair space for our outpatient cardiac procedures.

We specialise in caring for patients with varying cardiac conditions and we assist in the treatment and recovery of patients requiring coronary angiogram, cardiac stenting and implantable cardiac devices.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and patient-focused Nursing Associate to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our patients.

This role has been approved for advertising; however, it is also being assessed as a suitable alternative employment opportunity. As a result, the vacancy may be withdrawn or there may be a delay before shortlisting can begin.

This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

### Main duties of the job

Deliver safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.

To care for a cohort of patients who require cardiac interventions, which include pre and post procedure care and cardiac monitoring.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team including therapists, doctors and support staff.

Promote a therapeutic environment suitable for all cardiac patients.

Provide support and guidance to healthcare assistants and junior staff.

Involve families and carers in care planning and decision-making.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the ward.
