Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a trained nursing associate  to join our  neonatal team at St Helier Hospital.  We are a Level 2 Neonatal Unit and deliver all levels of care, including transitional care which is provided on our postnatal wards.

### Main duties of the job

- To assist in delivering safe and effective care to babies requiring Neonatal Special Care (SC) on the Neonatal Unit and Transitional Care (NTC)on the postnatal ward.
- Communicating directly with Neonatal nursing and medical teams to plan care for baby in SC/NTC.
- Acting autonomously to escalate concerns regarding babies’ condition to the Neonatal nurse in charge, working within agreed local guidelines.
- Deliver health promotion and support to families to enable them to appropriately care for their premature or unwell infants.
- To instruct, advice and deliver parentcraft classes to parents/carers including bathing, Resuscitation and safe sleep guidance.

### Qualifications

- Nursing Associate qualification with active NMC pin

**Desirable**

- Neonatal/paediatric life support course
