We welcome applications from qualified, Nursing Associates who may be looking for a change of location and a new challenge. ### Main duties of the job The role of the Nursing Associate is to work as part of the multi-professional team, delivering evidence-based public health care that focuses on the needs of the population within the service. The Nursing Associate contributes to the ongoing assessment of the child/young person and the school community, providing and monitoring care in line with service pathways, as agreed with the supervising Community Staff Nurse or Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. The Nursing Associate will work as part of the children’s 0-19 universal service, contributing to the provision of high-quality services for children, young people and families working within the Healthy Child Programme framework and the Best Start in Life priorities. Supporting the delivery of national and local public health agendas in response to identified health needs, working in partnership with partner agencies to meet agreed standards, objectives and statutory requirements. Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment; and will act in accordance with the NMC Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities This role supports the 0–19 Team in delivering the Healthy Child Programme through a tiered approach, providing universal, targeted, and specialist services across community settings. The postholder delivers compassionate, safe, and effective care to children, young people, and families in homes, schools, clinics, and community environments. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, they undertake health assessments, monitor child development, and contribute to early intervention programmes that promote physical, mental, and behavioural wellbeing. Key responsibilities include supporting families to improve health outcomes, delivering evidence-based interventions, and making appropriate referrals to partner agencies. The role involves strong multi-agency collaboration to ensure integrated care, safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals, and promoting resilience and life opportunities. The postholder contributes to health promotion activities, maintains accurate clinical records, and ensures care is delivered in line with professional standards and safeguarding policies. They are expected to manage their workload effectively, engage in continuous professional development, and support a positive team environment.
