St Thomas' Day Nursery is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Band 3 Nursery Nurse to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional childcare and early years education for children aged 0-5 years.

### Main duties of the job

Provide high-quality care and supervision for children aged 0-5 years.Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.Observe, monitor, and record children's progress and developmental milestones.

Foster positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming nursery environment.

Promote children's health, well-being, independence, and confidence.

Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and infection prevention procedures at all times.

Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and professional nursery team.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Band 3 Nursery Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care and early years education for children aged 3 months to 5 years within a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Working as part of the nursery team, the post holder will support children's learning, development, health, and well-being through play-based activities, observation, assessment, and effective partnership working with parents and professionals. The role includes maintaining accurate developmental records, contributing to children's progress reviews, promoting independence, safeguarding children at all times, and adhering to nursery policies, health and safety requirements, and legislative standards. The post holder will actively participate in team activities, training, supervision, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of outstanding childcare and education

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Working knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Welfare requirements
- Experience of working with children with SEND

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- NVQ level 3 in childcare or equivalent

**Desirable**

- Paediatric First Aid certificate

### skills and Knowledge

**Essential**

- Understanding of Safeguarding children policy and procedure in accordance with statutory requirements
- Good IT skill
- Ability to work in partnership with parents

**Desirable**

- An awareness of local and national childcare strategies
- Knowledge of sign language
