The maternity services in Leicester provide midwifery and obstetric care for in excess of 10,000 women per annum. As a valuable member of the ward team you would be responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for newborn babies, mothers and their families. You would be liaising closely with the baby care assistant and neonatologist to ensure neonatal examinations are carried out and documented efficiently. You will also be following a comprehensive training programme, performing observations and relevant screening on babies as required and also assisting women with their chosen method of feeding. You will take responsibility for the nursery room, when working on a ward, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and ready for use. The role is fully rotational and you would also be expected to provide support to the other maternity wards and delivery suite.  You will be expected to work an 11.5 hour shift pattern over days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. We are not able to offer a fixed shift pattern. You must possess NNEB/ BTEC National Diploma Level 3 or equivalent and have post qualification experience, some of which must be in baby care.
