Nurse

Residential Disability Service Positions

Permanent Contract - 37.5 hours per week

Locations: Co. Kildare

HSE Nurse Salary Scales (as relevant to experience)

The successful candidates will have experience working with people with complex nursing needs and individuals who may exhibit behaviours that challenge, while also being actively involved in Person Centred Planning. As part of the team at Kare, opportunities are available across our adult services and Children's Respite Service. You will support individuals to achieve meaningful outcomes, promote community inclusion, and maintain effective communication with families and multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities and demonstrate an understanding of contemporary approaches to positive behavioural support, person-centred practice, and the principles of community inclusion.

### Responsibilities

- Play an active role in the completion of the Assessment of Need for individuals
- Play an integral role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a person’s Individual Support Plan
- Plan & assess individuals’ health care needs and support non-nursing staff to follow health care support plans
- Support individuals to enhance their life by following their Individual Support Plan in a wide variety of life areas – achieving goals and objectives, Personal Care, Work & Leisure, Lifelong Learning, community inclusion, etc
- Maintain effective communication with the team, families and an individual’s support network
- Maintain all necessary records in accordance with Kare’s policies
- Deliver training to staff teams where required
- Travel between Kare locations for the purpose of meetings, training, etc, as required

### Requirements

- Qualification: A recognised validated university degree or equivalent qualification in Intellectual Disability Nursing, General Nursing, or Paediatric Nursing
- Must provide proof of current NMBI registration
- Must have a full, manual driver’s licence
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
- Experience supporting individuals with complex or additional behavioural support needs, particularly those with an intellectual disability
- Experience of working with adults and children, preferably in an intellectual disability setting
