### Main duties of the job

Job Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Dermatology/Allergy Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse with a passion for specialist care, patient education, and service development within dermatology and allergy services. The successful candidate will provide high-quality specialist nursing care for patients with a range of dermatological and allergic conditions, supporting both outpatient and inpatient services. You will work collaboratively with consultants, allied health professionals, and primary care teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main Duties of the Role
- Deliver specialist assessment, treatment, and ongoing management for patients with dermatology and allergy conditions
- Provide nurse-led clinics and patient follow-up support
- Offer education and advice to patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Support biologic therapies, patch testing, eczema management, urticaria pathways, and allergy care where appropriate
- Participate in multidisciplinary team working and service improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to audit and quality improvement activities
- Support junior staff and contribute to teaching and mentorship within the department

Person Specification

Essential Criteria
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
- Significant post-registration experience within dermatology, allergy, immunology, or related specialty
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
- Experience in patient education and clinical assessment
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection prevention, and clinical governance  Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or in nurse-led clinics
- Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake training
- Experience with biologic therapies and allergy testing

### Qualifications, knowledge and experience

**Essential**

- Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC register
- Degree qualification or equivalent 120 credits at L6
- Post registration qualification within area of speciality or equivalent experience.
- Completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies
- Provide evidence of supporting/ managing a range of learners in practice
- Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
- Extensive post registration experience within specialist area.
- Knowledge of current issues within the acute health service.
- Understanding of personal accountability.
- Confident of own knowledge base, aware of learning needs and seeks guidance when appropriate.
- Able to critically review and communicate clinical information.

**Desirable**

- Registered on MSc Pathway – completion of HTPA Competencies
- Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed
- Counselling qualification
