Are you an experienced children’s nurse looking for a new challenge?
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic children’s nurse to work within the Children's Respiratory nursing team. The post will involve working withing the Regional Cystic Fibrosis (CF) nursing service and the bronchiectasis nursing services at the Great North Childrens hospital. The unit provides a comprehensive service across the Northern region for children aged 0-18 years and their families.
This role would be suited to a band 5 with experience of working within respiratory care or a band 6 with a keen interest or specialist knowledge of CF/bronchiectasis.
As the post involves travel throughout the northern region, a current driving licence is essential.
The post holder will join a highly motivated team of specialist nurses, supporting and managing the care of children with CF and other respiratory conditions, both within the hospital and in their own home. Therefore, good communication skills and collaborative working across professional boundaries will be essential. We are looking to recruit a self-motivated children’s nurse who is able to adapt their skills to an ever-changing role, in different environments and at times working unsupervised. The applicant should have evidence of professional development to diploma level or equivalent. All applicants must be self-motivated and have a flexible, enthusiastic approach.
The post holder will be expected to work in a variety of areas such as out patient clinics, community settings, schools and patient’s homes. They will be expected to contribute to the management of a shared caseload and flexible to work within the wider respiratory nursing team. The post holder will have evidence of professional development to diploma level or equivalent.
Must hold a clean driver’s licence as post often involves long journeys into the community.
