This is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Sonographer to manage the co-ordination of Nurses, Health Care Support Workers & Administrative staff within Pregnancy Advisory and Integrated Sexual Health services; to ensure a high-quality service is delivered across clinical sites within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

The Post Holder will: work alongside the Senior Nurse, to ensure seamless care within the service provision across Cwm Taf Morgannwg, and will be a Clinical Nurse Specialist providing leadership for the Pregnancy Advisory service and Integrated Sexual Health Service alongside / in the absence of the Lead nurse, and will perform obstetric & gynaecology ultrasound scans in accordance with the protocols and guidelines set out by the R.C.O.G, BMUS and Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB.

### Main duties of the job

Post holder will:

Independently carry out assessments, counselling, ultrasound examinations and provide diagnostic reports for women accessing the TOP service, and maintain associated records.

Undertake duties within the extended role of the nurse/midwife which will include providing leadership and direction to ward/departmental staff in monitoring, planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised care.

Participate in the training and education of staff from all disciplines including medical staff, nurses, midwives and students working within the directorate.

Have responsibility for the running of the TOP services alongside the lead nurse, maintaining a high standard of care in all settings and will be responsible for the safe and smooth running of the Integrated Sexual/Women’s health clinics ensuring effective and efficient use of both staff and non-staff resources.

Must be able to independently undertake a range of specialised gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound examinations.

Use analytical and judgemental skills to provide interpretation of ultrasound images in order to provide independent written examination reports.

Work within established quality standards of practice, adhering to Ultrasound Guidelines such as BMUS\< RCOG and NICE guidelines for clinical excellence.
