### Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to join our Urgent Care Centre team. Our practitioners come from a range of nursing and paramedic backgrounds, bringing varied expertise to the service and working collaboratively to provide daily support, supervision and teaching.

The successful candidate will assess, diagnose and treat a range of minor injuries and illnesses. A supernumerary period will be provided to support completion of competencies in adult and paediatric minor illness and injury care.

The UCC is a fast-paced setting that requires strong time management skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. The role also involves ongoing self-directed learning and professional development to build confidence and competence within the department.

The post holder will work autonomously to deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care, while contributing to service improvement, team education and collaborative working with multidisciplinary colleagues.

### Main duties of the job

Undertake comprehensive patient assessments to support differential diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment plans.

Work autonomously and collaboratively as part of the team, maintaining safe and effective clinical practice.

Liaise with multidisciplinary colleagues to seek advice, make appropriate referrals and support a streamlined patient pathway.

Manage more complex patients, including the use of ILS/PILS skills where required, until safe transfer to secondary care is arranged.

Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues, using excellent interpersonal skills.

Ideally hold a Level 6 or Level 7 Clinical Examination qualification, with sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology across relevant body systems.

Demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn, while recognising personal limitations and undertaking self-directed learning to maintain clinical competence and safe practice.

### Job responsibilities

- As a member of the Urgent Treatment centre team contributes ideas for service development to the management team.

- Contribute to the development implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and clinical guidelines as appropriate.

- Participate in the development of an effective, nurse-led service utilizing a holistic, health needs approach.
- Provide specialist clinical knowledge and advice to clinical colleagues, patients, carers/relatives.
