The Department provides a wide ranging imaging, non-imaging and therapeutic radionuclide service based at Poole Hospital but serving patients from across Dorset. The department is equipped with two Siemens’ Intevo Bold SPECT/CT scanners and is situated adjacent to the Alliance Medical run PET Centre. Extensive optimisation has been undertaken on these two new scanners to allow full use to be made of their capabilities. The Department supports a progressive cardiac imaging service with Radiographer lead stressing and clinical reporting. Its hybrid imaging service is already providing a contract CT service for parathyroid imaging, and quantitative cardiac amyloid imaging. It actively supports staff training, clinical development, audit, research and attendance at meetings and conferences. This role required HCPC Registration. Base location - Poole Hospital Interview date  - 28th July 2026 ### Main duties of the job The work will involve preparation and administration of patient doses, patient handling and carrying out a wide range of imaging and non-imaging tests using gamma cameras and other special equipment. Work will also involve participation in the QA program of the gamma cameras and radioactive waste disposal and transport procedures. You will be registered with HCPC (or equivalent) and have significant experience in the field of nuclear medicine, preferably with a relevant post-graduate qualification. Appointment will be in the range of Band 6 depending on qualifications and experience. The department works 7:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday. The normal place of work will be Poole Hospital but work at Royal Bournemouth Hospital will be necessary on a rotational basis to support the sentinel node injection service. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities - Dispense, assay, and administer prescribed radiopharmaceuticals intravenously, subcutaneously, or orally. - Acquire appropriate, diagnostic quality images using overly complex hybrid gamma cameras and computer systems, using techniques adapted to the individual patient’s condition. - Analyse and process acquired data, to produce images, graphs and data from which clinical diagnosis can be achieved.
