## Job Content

### Job overview

HUC is seeking an experienced and influential Non-Executive Director – Performance & Operations to join its Board and provide independent oversight, constructive challenge and strategic insight across organisational performance and operational delivery.

This is an opportunity for an experienced senior leader to use their expertise to shape the future direction of HUC, supporting the Board to ensure that strategic ambitions translate into high-quality, effective and sustainable services.

The successful candidate will bring significant senior operational leadership experience within a complex, multi-site environment, a strong understanding of performance management, service improvement, operational planning, transformation and KPIs.

As an independent Board member, you'll contribute an objective perspective, challenge constructively and provide assurance on operational performance, service quality, capacity, resilience and risk. You will work collaboratively with fellow Board members and executives, helping HUC maintain a strong focus on patients, communities, staff and stakeholders.

This is a strategic governance role rather than a day-to-day operational position. You will need to demonstrate sound independent judgement, commercial acumen, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand complex issues and make well-informed strategic decisions.

Experience of healthcare or social care, the NHS, or working within the geographies in which HUC operates would be desirable
