The Consultant will provide a comprehensive service within a multidisciplinary pain team, focusing on chronic and complex pain management, with responsibilities including maintaining high patient care standards, ensuring compliance with Trust protocols, and collaborating with various departments to enhance service delivery. ### Main duties of the job To provide a consultant service within a multidisciplinary pain team for patients with chronic pain. To ensure personal knowledge of, and compliance with, Trust and departmental protocols. To maintain high quality of patient care with minimal risk and enhance patient satisfaction with informed consent following GMC guidelines. To help in the delivery of effective services within the agreed budget. To co-operate with other departments and agencies to meet the objectives of the Pain Services, Anaesthetic and Critical Care Departments. Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of patients. Promote new ways of working and co-ordinating care for patients in the hospital and community and to ensure that services are based on effective and integrated partnerships across the health community. Take part in multidisciplinary case discussions and meetings. Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines working closed with the clinical lead. Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients, and A&E. Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services and primary care.
