If you're due to qualify as a Registered Children's Nurse in 2026, East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust could have the perfect opportunity for you!

As one of the three largest NHS hospital groups in the East of England, we offer the chance to work with a diverse range of patients in a supportive and dynamic environment.

We have strong partnerships with the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Cambridge and are proud to be a founding member of the Eastern Academic Health Science Network, providing excellent opportunities for professional development and learning.

Our purpose-built Children's Emergency Department features:

- 2 paediatric resuscitation bays
- 6 major treatment spaces
- A 10-bed Children's Assessment and Decision Unit

In addition, our current 20-bed Children's Acute Ward will soon relocate to a brand-new two-storey facility, incorporating a dedicated Day Services Unit and expanded community children's services.

We are offering a 12-month rotational programme across both acute and community paediatric services, commencing in October 2026. This exciting opportunity will provide valuable experience across a range of paediatric settings, helping you build a strong foundation for your nursing career.

To be considered, applicants will be required to complete a full application, including a personal statement, and participate in a formal interview and assessment process.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Competency in basic nursing skills
- Evidence of practical application of Trust and national documentation standards
- IT skills

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Contemporaneous theoretical and practical knowledge of acute/chronic Paediatric care and national policies
- Up to date knowledge of: 1. NMC Code of Professional Conduct 2. Safeguarding Children processes 3. Hand hygiene and Care bundles 4. Quality Indicators 5. Health and safety awareness 6. Clinical Governance and quality issues 7. Risk management

### Previous Experience

- Experience and evidence of managing patient care
