Neurology Physiotherapy Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to join our dynamic and friendly Neuro Team.

This team provides a service for Neurology patients across the hospital supporting with assessment, rehab and complex discharges. You will have the opportunity to complete sessions alongside advanced physiotherapists to develop skills whilst also managing your own caseload/ interventions as well as supporting with our outpatient Neuro hydrotherapy class.

We offer comprehensive training, ongoing professional development, and the opportunity to work in a supportive, forward-thinking team that values innovation and patient-centred care.

### Main duties of the job

Working as part of the service you will:

- Assist physiotherapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitation to neurology patients.
- Work closely alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide holistic care.
- Help patients regain independence through tailored exercise programs and functional activities.
- Offer reassurance and emotional support to patients and families during a challenging time.
- Work collaboratively with the team to complete administrative duties to support patients journeys.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Interpersonal skills to include concise and effective verbal and written communication
- Logical, able to problem solve.
- Organisational skills
- IT literate.
- Ability to work single handedly with individuals and groups.

**Desirable**

- Ability to present information to a small group
- Ability to conduct and respond to risk assessments.
- Teaching skills.
- Knowledge of anatomy/physiology.

### Experience

**Essential**

- To have had experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant in the relevant speciality.
- To have worked as part of a team.

**Desirable**

- To have worked as band 2 or above in NHS in Neurology environment

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE or equivalent qualification to demonstrate numeracy and literacy.
- NVQ3 or equivalent experience.

**Desirable**

- Associate member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
- Documented evidence on C.P.D.
