Do you have a passion for Adult Neuro-Rehabilitation? Would you like to join an energetic and supportive team? Our friendly team consists of 16 Dietitians, 9 Speech & Language Therapists and an administrator.

We have an exciting opportunity to backfill a secondment for 1 year fixed term. We are looking for an experienced Dietitian to assist with leading on the management of a varied neuro-rehabilitation caseload across two wards; Daniel's Rehabilitation Unit and Alderbourne Rehabilitation Unit. The post holder will provide support to the band 6 Dietitian, who provide cover to these units and the Stroke Unit.

The Neurological Rehabilitation service at Hillingdon provides multidisciplinary rehabilitation for patients with neurological and other complex conditions such as TBI, spinal injuries and poly-trauma patients.

### Main duties of the job

The clinical caseload includes providing a high quality, evidence-based specialist dietetic service to Alderbourne Rehabilitation Unit and the Daniels Rehabilitation Unit at Hillingdon Hospital. You will be the dietetic lead for neuro-rehabilitation and a valued member of the multidisciplinary teams. The post holder will be involved in educating staff on matters relating to nutrition and catering and will supervise student dietitians on placement. The post holder will be expected to manage their caseload independently and will be involved in department wide projects and service improvements.

You will have opportunity to work with a specialist MDT including Consultant Neurologists, Psychologists, MS & PD specialist nurses, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and language therapists and the Environmental Control team. The Hillingdon Rehabilitation service collaborates closely with the Charing Cross Neuro rehabilitation team. We are part of a network of acute services and level 1 rehabilitation services to ensure a smooth transition of care from neuro-intensive care to the community.

## Person Specification

### Person Spec

**Essential**

- Degree or equivalent or post graduate qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Evidence of current HCPC registration (State Registered Dietitian)
- Specialist training in neuro rehab/nutrition support
- Thorough post graduate dietetic experience of a variety of outpatient and inpatient work including care of elderly, stroke, neuro-rehab, medical and surgical wards
- Experience of working in a neuro-rehab setting and specialist knowledge of nutrition support

**Desirable**

- Evidence of further post graduate study in dietetics at masters level e.g. British Dietetic Association (BDA) postgraduate courses equivalent to Masters degree
- Member of BDA Specialist Interest Group CCSG
- Member of the British Dietetic Association or covered by professional indemnity insurance.
- Experience of investigating and responding to complaints
