An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Critical Care ODN. We are seeking a Paediatric Nurse with experience of LTV and education to take on the role of our Network LTV workstream educator. The post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting the pathways of care for children and young people requiring LTV across the EoE. Whilst focussing on education, the post holder will also play a key role in working with regional and national LTV workstreams. The post holder will be a self-motivated, enthusiastic and informed paediatric nurse/educator with an excellent knowledge of LTV care, able to work autonomously. S/he will be an excellent communicator, able to successfully interact with multi-disciplinary teams.

Paediatric Critical Care Units | EoE ODN

### Main duties of the job

In collaboration with the tertiary LTV service, will lead on the delivery and evaluation of LTV education packages across the EoE. Delivery of MDT LTV education across the network will be a significant part of the role, providing support to individual Trusts where required.

You will continue building relationships with other ODN LTV and education teams across the country to rationalise resources and reduce variation in clinical care and education.

You will ensure that the network is kept informed and acts upon national developments affecting LTV provision, education and training to ensure robust practice.

You will take the lead in ensuring that clinical practice remains evidence based and up to date, and practice relates to the needs of the patients, in line with the principles and values of the NHS Constitution, National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance.

You will seek and maintain communication with other local organisations, for example, Higher Education Institutions and Health Education England, contributing to curriculum developments in the field of LTV Care.

You will work with clinical teams across the region to identify patient specific gaps in knowledge and skills and offer support to improve patient flow and experience when moving from PICU to ward/home.

You will be part of the PCC ODN Education team and collaborate and contribute to education delivery, where appropriate with the Surgery in Children and Neonatal ODN teams. See job description for full details

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of caring for CYP requiring long term ventilation
- Nursing experience in paediatric critical care
- Experience at a senior clinical level (Band 6 or above) in relevant specialty
- Experience of teaching/mentoring/ preceptorship
- Experience of developing clinical guidelines
- Experience of facilitating change
- Experience of sharing best practice
- Experience of developing learning resources/ delivering programmes of education
- Experience of working within multi professional teams

**Desirable**

- NHS experience
- Experience working at clinical nurse specialist level or equivalent
- Experience of creating electronic resources/ e learning packages, or a willingness to undertake
