### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse with current NMC Pin
- Nursing degree or equivalent
- Evidence of CPD
- Evidence of Mentorship
- Qualified in speciality
- Current NLS provider
- Accelerated leaders course

### Knowledge and skills requirement

**Essential**

- Significant post-registration experience, including 2 years at Band 6 level
- Experience of research and audit
- Proactive problem solving
- Ability to use reflective practice
- Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership course
- Awareness of current nursing issues
- Experience of change agent/quality improvement
- IT skills

**Desirable**

- Evidence of ward management
- Understanding of ward budgets
