An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to develop and lead occupational therapy input within our Neonatal Unit. As a specialist clinician, you will play a pivotal role in delivering developmental care and supporting infants born prematurely or with complex perinatal needs, alongside their families.

Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary neonatal team, you will provide specialist assessment, intervention, education and support for babies and families throughout their neonatal journey. You will champion family-integrated care, promote optimal developmental outcomes and help create a developmentally supportive neonatal environment.

### Main duties of the job

- Providing advanced assessment and treatment for neonates with complex developmental needs.

- Leading on developmental and family-integrated care within the neonatal service.

- Supporting, educating and empowering parents and carers to actively participate in their baby's care.

- Delivering specialist training and education to the wider neonatal workforce.

- Contributing to service development, quality improvement, audit and clinical governance initiatives.

- Working collaboratively across the multidisciplinary team and neonatal network to improve developmental outcomes for babies and families.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated clinician who is passionate about neonatal care and developmental practice.

### Essential Requirements

- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body.
- Relevant postgraduate education or training.
- Experience working as a paediatric or neonatal therapist.
- Specialist neonatal clinical knowledge and skills.
- Knowledge of developmental care approaches, including Family Integrated Care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of audit and service improvement activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

### Desirable Requirements

- Master's level study.
- Specialist neonatal training such as Brazelton, Bayley Scales or Prechtl qualifications.
- Membership of a relevant special interest group.
- Experience leading change or service developments.
- Research involvement and presentation experience.
