Then this post could be just what you are looking for. ### Main duties of the job We have an opportunity for a Band 7 Neonatal Governance role/risk management lead to join our team on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We are a regional level 3 intensive care unit with 42 cots, providing the most advanced and specialist care for premature and critically unwell newborns. We deliver a full range of care from Intensive and high dependency through to special and transitional care, ensuring that babies and their families receive seamless, compassionate support throughout their journey. The post holder will provide practical guidance in setting up and managing the development and delivery of the governance agenda within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Providing practical support to staff to improve patient care and patient safety, developing timely and measurable action plans to meet the required standards. Taking a leading role in the implementation of the neonatal risk management arrangements ensuring incidents are reported and analysed for trends, issues identified and where appropriate, our populated onto the care group/Trust risk registers. We look forward to hearing from you. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities - Facilitate the work programme for governance, providing practical support to staff in order to improve patient care and patient safety, developing timely and measurable action plans to meet the required standards. - As an integral part of the Neonatal Intensive Care team, advise on local and national policies, which influence or may impact on services, contributing to the delivery of local and national policy initiatives and contributing to key performance outcomes. - To work with staff within all areas of the department, to ensure they have governance arrangements in place that are ‘fit for purpose’ and reflect the Trusts objectives and priorities. - To act as a contact point for Neonatal governance matters and to provide advice and direction to all staff demonstrating a constant awareness of departmental issues, dealing with complex, sensitive and contentious matters. - To take a leading role in the implementation of the neonatal Risk Management arrangements ensuring that incidents reported are analysed for trends, issues identified and where appropriate, are populated onto the Care Group/Trust Risk Registers.
