Senior MSK Physiotherapist The MSK outpatient service is an innovative and ambitious community service looking to recruit likeminded therapists. Our post is across two sites, Haslemere Hospital and Cranleigh Village Hospital. It offers the opportunity for physios to work in a supportive, evidence-based team.

### Main duties of the job

To work as part of the Community MSK Physiotherapy team which operates from two sites; Haslemere Community Hospital and Cranleigh Village Community Hospital. You will be based at one of these sites, Cross-site working will be required The post-holder will work as an autonomous clinician, undertaking advanced assessments, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems. There is also opportunity for development within pelvic health. You will be able to access clinical development and regular clinical supervision & peer support. As part of the Physiotherapy team and wider trust, you will contribute to service development, and adhere to the Physiotherapy Department and Trusts policies, strategies and objectives.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work as an integral member of the MSK Physiotherapy team working to service local guidelines

To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual treatment or management plans which are discussed and agreed with patients

To use specialist clinical skills to manage the more complex caseload

To actively keep up to date with clinical and professional developments

To provide treatment at either of our two community hospitals

To provide treatment to adults and children

To support band 5 Physiotherapists in their development by contributing to their training

To support students with their supervision and clinical development

To provide specialised assessment, formulate clinical diagnosis and treatment plan as an autonomous practitioner

To take part in clinical outcome measurements and audit.

- To carry out a detailed client assessment of new clients providing agreed individual treatment and management plans –using clinical reasoning skills
- To communicate information in an understandable way to patients, and agree cooperation from the patient for treatment
- To communicate effectively with the patients to ensure best clinical outcomes using a range of communication styles e.g. motivation, persuasion and negotiating skills. To be flexible in communication approach and use interpersonal skills to overcome barriers to communication
- Undertake health promotion or treatment activities to groups/individuals/clients and other professionals as appropriate and required
- To demonstrate scope of practice to colleagues and other health care professionals

To be legally and professionally accountable and responsible for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care

To maintain high professional standards and code of conduct according to departmental/HPC/Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Standards & guidelines

To supervise physiotherapy students

### Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree ( or diploma) in Physiotherapy and be on the HCP register

**Desirable**

- Post graduate training/qualifications

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Member of relevant professional body Health Professions council Registration (HPC)

**Desirable**

- Experience and knowledge of carrying out a range of msk assessments and procedures leading to a diagnosis and management plans , and be willing to continue to develop these skills.
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
